PhD. Eng. Wiktor Harmatys, Cracow University of Technology
Born in 1988 in Cracow, Poland. He finished his studies at Cracow University of Technology in 2013 (Master studies in the field of Production Engineering ). In 2022 he was awarded a PhD with distinction at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Cracow University of Technology. He works as a researcher at Cracow University of Technology since 2010. He is a recognized specialist in the field of coordinate metrology, associated with the Laboratory of Coordinate Metrology. He has extensive experience in the supervision and operation of coordinate measuring machines and in the implementation of calibration services for coordinate measuring systems, i.e. measuring arms, Laser Tracker systems, coordinate measuring machines or optical measuring systems in accordance with the ISO 10360 series standard. Wiktor Harmatys is the author of numerous scientific publications and actively participates in international projects, such as Erasmus+ "User-centered training for optical measurements in digitalized manufacturing processes", of which he is the manager, and Erasmus+ "Training for dimensional metrology in digital manufacturing". As part of these projects, he is involved in the development of modern teaching methods and educational materials aimed at increasing the effectiveness of training in the field of coordinate metrology. In his scientific work, he collaborates with many foreign research units, including OST - Ostschweizer Fachhochschule Buchs in Switzerland, and Università degli Studi di Padova in Italy. The research focuses on the accuracy of measuring machines, and its results are presented at international conferences and published in renowned scientific journals. As part of his research activities, Wiktor Harmatys also closely cooperates with industrial companies, which allows him to practically apply research results and adapt the offer of the Coordinate Metrology Laboratory to the needs of industry. Thanks to this, he has gained extensive experience in the calibration of measurement systems and analysis of measurement conditions for clients throughout Poland. As a member of accredited calibration lab he cooperates with many companies from different branches of industry. They include Volkswagen, Fiat Auto Poland, ALSTOM Power, ArcelorMittal, APTIV, Hexagon Metrology GmbH, Carl Zeiss, Renishaw, etc.. Wiktor Harmatys is also the winner of numerous awards and distinctions for his scientific and teaching achievements. His involvement in the development of coordinate metrology and cooperation with industry and foreign research centers contribute to raising the standards of measurement quality and education in this field.
