About me
Guillem Megias Homar is an astronomer and engineer at Stanford University whose work bridges cutting-edge optics and fundamental questions in astrophysics, with a particular focus on active optics systems for next-generation telescopes. He is currently co-leading the commissioning of the Active Optics System for the Vera C. Rubin Observatory, a billion-dollar NSF-DOE flagship project that will map the dynamic universe through the 10-year Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST). Guillem’s research combines optical metrology, wavefront sensing, and control algorithms to optimize the performance of large, complex telescopes.
